Weekly Principal Communication!! 8.5.2022

FHello Sanderlin Sea Turtle Learning Community,

I hope that everyone is enjoying their last few days of summer. I know that these are usually hectic days as we are Back to School shopping and preparing for the new school year ahead!

I wanted to send out a few reminders this week:

Don’t forget that Monday, August 8th from 3:30 – 5:30 is the Meet and Greet. This is an opportunity for you to meet your child’s teacher, drop off school supplies and walk around the school to orient yourself. This is not a night for conferences. We will have a Back To School Night on August 24th for PYP and August 25 for MYP where more information and time will be spent. This night is simply meant to “Meet and Greet.” Come by and join us!

Please note that all supply lists are posted on the Sanderlin website and the PTSA supply packs arrived and were delivered this past week for those families that ordered them.

Also, please make sure you have made note that our school hours have changed this year to 9:25 – 3:35. The school doors will open at 9:00 for students to enter and have breakfast.

The free school lunch program has ended this year. Lunch is $2.25. Please fill out the free and reduced lunch form at: https://www.myschoolapps.com/ to see if you qualify for free and reduced lunch. This application can also generate support and assistance for the school so please take a moment to fill out this important form.

Please take note that many of the back to school paperwork is online this school year. We will still send home a first day packet with all of the forms on paper this year and please note that even if you fill out forms online there are still some forms that are not online but are required to be returned. These forms will all be outlined in the first day packet. You can go to: https://www.pcsb.org/backtoschoolforms to fill out the online forms for the return to school.

Lastly, we are working hard this year to improve our timely communication with families. We will be using a program called Dojo for both school and class communication this year. You can click on the QR code located in the attachment to this email (or check out the school website for the code and directions) to set yourself up on our school dojo. Teachers will be sending communication through their accounts on a regular basis and it is my commitment to also include information on our School Story on a regular basis. We are excited to kick off Dojo and hope you will enjoy it as well!

We are very excited to see you at the Meet and Greet on August 8th and for the start of school on August 10th. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Sincerely,

Carrie A. Cormier

Principal, Sanderlin K-8 IB World School
