Hello Sanderlin Sea Turtle Learning Community,
I want to thank all of the families who attended our Student Led Conference, Community and Exhibition Project Night last night. This was an extremely well attended event and there was an amazing buzz around campus that was focused on the hard work students have put into their school year. There was a great energy and it was great to have our families back on our campus.
As we enter this last month of school, it is important that we continue to remain principled. We have critical assessment days and important events and awards ceremonies coming up. However, this last week I noticed a significant increase in tardies and early pick up’s. Please continue to support us in ensuring that your child attends school on time and regularly so that we can finish our year with strong academic instruction.
My reminders for this week include:
1) Next week is a big week of FSA testing on campus. The schedule is:
Tuesday, May 3rd and Wednesday, May 4th – 4th and 5th Grade ELA FSA
Thursday, May 5th and Friday, May 6th – 3rd Grade FSA Math and 6th, 7th and 8th grade FSA Reading
Please make sure that your child comes to school on time and well rested on their testing days to ensure that they are set up for testing success.
2) We are in need of more mints for helping to keep our students focused during testing. If you are able to donate a bag or two of mints, you can send them in with your child or drop them off in the front office. Your donation is greatly appreciated!
3) Our Sanderlin PTSA invites you to join their last General Meeting of this school year. It will be on Wednesday, May 4 at 6:00 PM via Zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86525920948?pwd=Y3pFdEd4SWpYVFpzTUN5b1pKUDdKZz09. On the agenda is their Board Election! Relevant information is available on their website: https://jamesbsanderlinptsa.com/
4) Lastly (but still incredibly important), this week is Staff Appreciation Week. I have attached a flyer with this year’s theme. If you are able to send in some tokens of appreciation for your child’s teacher, it would be very appreciated!
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Carrie A. Cormier
