Weekly Principal’s Reminders 1.28.22

Hello Sanderlin Sea Turtle Learning Community,

I hope everyone had a wonderful week! I want to thank the PTSA for an excellent Tortuga Trot event last Saturday! I appreciate everyone that participated. It was a wonderful time! I also want to congratulate the girls and boys basketball teams for a wonderful season. They fought through a hard season. I am really proud of them!

I am very excited to announce in this message that we have an additional Assistant Principal joining our school. Don’t worry – Mrs. Becker is still happily here with us at Sanderlin. Mrs. Jillian Black is the new Assistant Principal at Sanderlin! If you see her around campus, please be sure to welcome her. You can find some more information about Mrs. Black on the Sanderlin home page. We can’t wait to get started with our new team member.

My reminders for the week include:

1) We are seeing a large increase in the number of tardy students being dropped off in the car line in the mornings. Please note that school starts promptly at 8:55. Our gates open at 8:25. We strongly encourage you to drop your child off closer to 8:25. Please note that we will be closing breakfast at 8:50 in the morning starting Monday (this does NOT include late bus arrivals). If your child is dropped off at or after 8:50, they will not be allowed to get breakfast. Please plan accordingly!

2) There will be a SAC meeting this week, Feb. 1st at 6:00 in the HUB. This meeting will also be on TEAMS virtually. A link will be sent next week.

3) PTSA’s Spirit Wear sale is now open. If you are interested in purchasing new school t-shirts or hoodies, this is the time to order. The deadline to place your order is February 6th. We expect items to be sent home in student backpacks the week of March 1st. Please visit sanderlin.memberhub.com/store to place your order. This is the last chance to order spirit wear items for the current school year. Don’t wait until it is too late.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Stay warm!

Sincerely,

Carrie A. Cormier

Principal, Sanderlin K-8 IB World School
