Hello Sanderlin Sea Turtle Learning Community,
I hope everyone had a great week. It is my hope that most of you enjoyed a parent conference with your child’s teacher to get an update on their progress, or you have one scheduled in the upcoming days! Please note that progress reports will be coming out next week as well for Quarter 2.
My reminders for this week include:
1.) Please don’t forget that on Veteran’s Day, Thursday, Nov. 11th, we are hosting a breakfast in Le Bistro for all active duty and veteran military at 7:45 am. If you have a family member that is on active duty or is a veteran, please encourage them to attend this event in celebration and appreciation of their service. Please contact hermank@pcsb.org if you would like more information.
2.) Our Sanderlin MYP students are taking action for a really great cause through their Community Projects. Help support one of our 8th grade community service projects by sponsoring a veterans’ wreath through Wreath’s Across America. This community service project allows you to purchase wreaths to be placed on a grave at Bay Pines National Cemetery remembering and honoring our fallen veterans. Follow the link below for information on Wreaths Across America and to sponsor wreaths for Bay Pines National Cemetery. For more information please contact, Jared Jackson, Taka Franklin, or Cayden Toronski.

3.) There continue to be a lot of Tardy students each day. It is a magnet expectation that students are in their seats and ready to learn by 8:55AM each morning. Students who are dropped off at 8:53-8:55 are Tardy by the time they get to their classrooms. Please be sure that you are dropping your children off to school no later than 8:50AM. If your child needs breakfast, please try to get here earlier. Our gates open at 8:25AM. Plan to build in an extra five minutes to your morning so your child arrives on time. We appreciate your cooperation.
4.) Lunch Pal Volunteers needed: A Lunch Pal Volunteer meets 30 mins once a week with a student in need of encouragement and support. We currently have a great need for male Lunch Pal volunteers. Meetings are facilitated either in person or online via Zoom. If you are interested in learning more, I invite you to attend an Online Lunch Pal Workshop. Please email Brenna Arch at archb@pcsb.org if you have any questions or would like additional information. Please pass along this information to family and friends. You can register for a workshop using this link: https://app.smartsheet.com/b/form/0313b2663e674d739b97839c383ec8d6
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
