Weekly Principal’s Message 10.15.21

Hello Sanderlin Sea Turtle Learning Community,

I hope everyone had a wonderful week. My reminders for this week include:

On Tuesday, October 19th, first quarter report cards will be published in Focus by 4PM. If you need assistance with your parent portal log-in information, please contact our office. We do not send home paper copies of report cards unless a parent sends a written request for a copy.

October 20th is National SAVE Day, a day to celebrate the history, and everything amazing about SAVE (Students Against Violence Everywhere) Promise Clubs. These clubs work to prevent violence and promote inclusion at school and in the community. Please encourage your child to wear orange on Wednesday, October 20th to support our SAVE clubs at school.

On Friday, Oct. 22nd we are doing a Pink Out to TAKE ACTION by raising Awareness– aligned to the UN Sustainable Development goal #3 — Good Health and Well-Being. This pink out will be about raising awareness around breast cancer.

Just a friendly reminder that Toys 4 Tots registration is now open, and the program is filling up quickly! Pinellas County has already booked over half of the available spots for this year. Please register as soon as possible if you are interested in receiving holiday gift assistance for your children. To sign up, go to https://t4tpinellas.ptaptsa.org/pre-registration. If you have any questions please contact our school counselor, Melissa Sprout, at sproutm@pcsb.org or 727-552-1700 x2060.

Parents/Guardians please remember that if your child is arriving late to school (after 8:55am), you must park and walk the student in to the front office to sign them in. This applies to middle school students as well. We are required to have you sign them in and give a reason for the tardy arrival – “late” is not an acceptable reason but reasons such as “traffic” “overslept”, etc. are. Recently, we’ve had students dropped off with out a parent/guardian coming in. Thank you for your help with this.

I hope that everyone has a great weekend!

Sincerely,

Carrie A. Cormier

Principal, Sanderlin K-8 IB World School
